Bumblebee Craft

There is not much that pleases my toddler more than glue. So this project was right up his alley. I precut and glued the 2 black circles for the bee's body, and the wings. But we cut the yellow stripes together. Then Zeke got to glue the stripes and wings by himself. And run around the house buzzing, of course.

We did a family field trip, taking the city Bus downtown this weekend.

*We actually did B is for Bugs over 2 weeks, because my youngest was sick the first week and so my oldest got a lot of independent playing and not a lot of mommy time.

The Very Quiet Cricket by Eric Carle

Let's admit it; bug week might as well be called Eric Carle week by the look of our book haul from the library this week. I cant help it. No one does bugs like Eric Carle and I recommend any one of his works. Zeke especially enjoyed the Very Quiet Cricket's repetition however, as well as the long parade of different insects the cricket comes upon in his journey. Not to mention the best surprise of all, a beautiful cricket call when you open the last page.
